Electronic Refrigerant Valves for Electric Vehicles

January 2024

EGELHOF in the magazine MTZ - Motortechnische Zeitschrift

The increasing demands on thermal management in plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles have led to a wide variety of electronically controlled refrigerant valves. Due to the challenges of using per- and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds, the basic structure of the valve will be influenced by the properties of per- and polyfluorine-free refrigerants in the future. EGELHOF discusses possible valve types with different functional scopes and classifies them with regard to technical and economical aspects.
